RoHS Compliant Facility

Distron worked extensively leading up to the July 1st 2006 RoHS deadline establishing a world class material handling and lead-free manufacturing process. The manufacturing operation has been completely reconfigured to allow for both leaded and lead-free production.  Since the May of 2006 Distron has been fully compliant with the EC Directive on Restriction and Use of Hazardous Substances.  Our staff is highly trained to handle and manufacture RoHS compliant products using dedicated capital equipment and work areas.

Materials

• Identification, inspection and handling of lead-free materials and components
  
• Unique part number systems to identify and segregate RoHS components
  
• Proper kitting and routing through the factory

Engineering

• Develop RoHS specific product routings and visual aids
• Bill of materials conversion services offered through our component engineering department
• DFM and PCB material selection criteria
• Printed circuit board layout through our engineering design partner
• Extensive experience with high melting point solders and reflow profiling
• Ability to handle different Lead Free surface finishes including Immersion Gold, Immersion Silver, Immersion Tin, OSP or Lead Free HASL

Operations

• Reflow of RoHS products using a 9 zone Reflow Oven
• Dedicated Electrovert wave solder machine and Pillarhouse selective solder machine for RoHS compliant products
• Currently building 35% of our shipments as RoHS compliant products
• Segregated work areas and tools for RoHS compliant products
